I love shopping at St. Vincent de Paul, because every time I go I have no idea what I’m going to find, and that’s one of the best parts!

Another one is that your purchases help support neighbors in need!

St. Vincent de Paul provides clothing, furniture, food vouchers, rent and utility assistance for local Pittsburgh residents in need! (To donate or find out more check them out here.)

This time around I came across this old school “puck purse” and Penguins sweatshirt that was perfect for the game last weekend!

Meanwhile my fiance wanted to wear the sweatshirt, but I wanted to, so he ended up wearing a Steelers hoodie to the hockey game.

Now he insists that the sweatshirt is now his. I’ll be looking for another one next time I stop in St. Vincent de Paul! I always find sweet sports gear at SVDP!

I know you probably wouldn’t be carrying the puck purse everyday, but SVDP has plenty of other purse options…

Franco Sarto in the building! ^^^

I also found this colbalt blue Express dress that I rocked at Eat.Drink.Pittsburgh last week! EXPRESS! AT St. Vincent de Paul!

I loved this Bill Levkoff black and white dress that’ll be perfect for the upcoming wedding season!

I was blown away by the name brands we found at such incredible prices.

Some of my favorite things I always find are antique pieces that are perfect for your home and in my case wedding decor!

Check out that glass bowl hiding back in there! ^ BRB Going back to get that!

You also might’ve noticed a brand new egg flipper in my cart that was still in the packaging AND this sweet ravioli press…

$1.99! YEP! These prices are what I am talking about!

I’ve been hitting up SVDP for all of the wedding things!

I’ll be sure to stop back often as items are added to the floor daily!

While we were shopping, they were loading up the shelves, and I couldn’t help but make this comparison…

Your couch can match Adam Levine’s shirt!

Find the Vera to your Bradley or Gaga to your Bradley!

They have an awesome selection of vinyl records too (.)(.) that price! $$$

This heated ice scraper would’ve came in handy this winter… let’s be real, it still will!

Find a St. Vincent de Paul store near you here! (Butler, Coraopolis, Castle Shannon, Monroeville and Swissvale)

Recently, the Pittsburgh Catholic published an article featuring stories about local Vincentians and the work that they do in their communities through the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. The article, written by Bob De Witt, also highlighted the need for assistance programs like those offered through our Conferences (i.e. food, clothing, furniture, housing, and transportation).

“Last year the Catholic lay association assisted 104,924 individuals in southwestern Pennsylvania…Supported by parishioners and other generous donors, they help with rent, utility bills, clothing, furniture and other items. More than 38,000 people received food assistance in 2017. Thrift stores sell donated goods at a low price, helping to raise money.

“Despite a low unemployment rate, the ranks of the working poor are growing” wrote De Witt. “More than 40 percent of Pennsylvania households can’t afford basic necessities, according to a recent United Way study. Between 2005 and 2016, the annual cost of utilities for an average home jumped 43 percent, as medical costs also continue to rise. Meanwhile, median income in the U.S. increased less than 3 percent over a decade.”
